It is no secret that in summer a lot of tourists from neighboring countries, Russia and even Europe fly to Batumi, attracted by the mild climate, interesting sights and the purest sea. In summer, the city is like an anthill: its beaches are full, restaurants are crowded with vacationers, and the nightlife is bustling.

    Renting a car in Tbilisi

Travelling in Georgia is much more interesting if you rent car in Tbilisi and drive through the country. I can suggest a good local car rental agency for that – GSS Car Rental. The prices here are affordable and the services of the company are great. If you are travelling in a company, you can rent a minivan. All you will need to do is to visit the GSS website – gsscarrental.com and make a booking. The company can deliver a vehicle at the airport of Batumi Tbilisi or Kutaisi if you need it.

    Exploring Batumi

I had only one day to explore Batumi, but considering that it is very small, it was enough to see the main interesting things. Batumi mostly attracts people who would like to play in casinos of this town and rest on the beaches in summer.

The beach in Batumi is pebbly, all the stones are smooth. The water is crystal clear. The sea is full of dolphins, jumping out of the water. By the way, there is a dolphinarium in Batumi, for those who want to see these cute creatures closer. Along the entire coast stretches the famous Seaside Boulevard, the main attraction of the resort. Its total length is about five kilometers.

There are also trendy restaurants on the coast, and the most luxurious hotels in Batumi – Hilton, Sheraton, Radisson and other intricate buildings. Radisson is the most expensive hotel in Batumi, a little cheaper is Sheraton.

At the seaside park you can rent a bike and go wherever you want, or buy a bag of popcorn. The most attention of tourists is attracted by the musical or singing fountains that meet them at the main entrance to the park.

In addition to the fountains, something in the shape of a pig’s head caught my attention. As it turned out, this is an unusual building of Batumi registry office, which is not only actively functioning, but also serves as a local attraction, shimmering in the evenings with all the colors of the rainbow. Of course, I could not miss the opportunity to look at the city from a bird’s eye view, or rather, the Ferris Wheel. The city appeared to be at a glance. The wheel is unhurried, we had time to consider and take panoramic pictures of Batumi.

I enjoyed visiting Batumi as it has a lot of interesting places to explore. Renting a car in Tbilisi was a good idea, because I have found a lot of remarkable points of interest for the tourists while driving to Black Sea coast. I have rented a Toyota SUV and it performed pretty well, so I can recommend to hire a vehicle at GSS Car Rental if you are going to visit Georgia.
