I, today, am going to take you on this enjoyable trip to Sri Lanka for seven whole days and here we go!
Day 01/02 – Sigiriya and Dambulla
On the first day of travel in Sri Lanka, the best place to visit is Sigiriya, an amazing ancient rock fortress that used to be one of the royal cities in ancient Sri Lanka.
While you climb to the top of this massive rock, you’ll get to see the famous ‘Sigiriya frescos and the ‘Mirror Wall’ featuring king “Kashyapa’s” beautiful wives who are visiting the nearby Pidurangala temple which also is located under a nearby massive rock Pidurangala.
Dambulla is also one of the famous in Sri Lanka travel places, located closer to Sigiriya town featuring a large cave temple with ancient cave arts.
Day 03 – Kandy
Kandy is popular and one of the best places of Sri Lankan trips. The ‘temple of the tooth relic’ is a must-visit-place in Kandy so much so that it had made Kandy the cultural capital of Sri Lanka.
You’ll also be amazed by the scenery of the whole town from the newly-built Kandy viewpoint. If you visit Kandy, don’t forget to have a calming walk around the lake in the middle of the city.
Day 04 – Nuwara-Eliya
In my opinion, Nuwara-Eliya, well-known as the “Little-England”, is the most beautiful Sri Lankan travel places, which has acres of tea estates, soothing chilly weather, and flowery surroundings almost every time of the year.
A place you must not miss here is the Horton Plains National Park, the coldest and windiest spot with evergreen forests, grasslands, and marshy lands, and aquatic ecosystems.
Day 05 – Yala
One of the best things to do in Sri Lanka is going on safari camping in Yala, which is the best place to observe Sri Lankan wildlife. While your visit to Yala National Park you’ll have dozens of choices with luxurious hotels nearby such as Wild Coast Tented Lodge(5-star) and Wild Coast Yala which is also a five-star hotel.
Day 06 – Bentota
Bentota located in the southern seashore, featuring a long and golden beach is also a remarkable destination in this beautiful Sri Lanka. It is a magnetic destination not only among locals but also foreigners alike.
You’ll be able to enjoy your time there by speed boat riding, diving, kite surfing, and paddleboarding till the sunset. If you are a beach lover without a doubt you must visit Bentota.
Day 07 – Colombo
Finally, yet importantly, the last day to spend your vacation is Colombo which is the economical capital of this land. The recently built “Nelum Kuluna” the tallest tower in South Asia, the Galle Face Beach, and the Pettah Market are the must-visit places and having a nice plate of Pettah’s kottu rotti is surely one of the things to do in Sri Lanka.
During your time in this nice and elegant city, you can be accommodated at the nearby 5-star hotels the Cinnamon Grand Colombo and the Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo.
So, I hope you’ve got the exact idea of things to do in Sri Lanka. Now, at the end of an Enjoyable week in this magnificent island. I bet you’ll have an unforgettable and lovely time on your next trip to Sri Lanka of Olanka Travel!
